 Mission Statement

Barrington Middle School Physical Education And Health

"The mission of the Barrington Middle School, in partnership with the entire community, is to prepare each student to become a life-long learner by providing a safe and caring environment and a challenging, integrated curriculum, supported by current technology, which meet the unique educational, physical, emotional, with an approach to health issues and preventative measures for the social needs of the 10-14 year old student."

  

 

BMS Physical Education Policies     

 

  1. Students must participate in Physical Education in order to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities on that day.
  2. All students will be assigned a locker and must have a combination lock.  No sharing of lockers will be allowed.  DO NOT LEAVE ANY ITEMS UNLOCKED.
  3. Students must wear proper attire to class.  T-shirts are required.   Gym shorts, sweatpants, and sweat shirts are acceptable.  Jeans, cargo pants/shorts pajamas, hospital scrubs, and tank tops are not acceptable.  Sneakers must be worn at all times and tied.  Open back sneakers, flip-flops, sandals and cleats are not allowed.  ABSOLUTELY NO BAREFEET!  NO EXCEPTIONS!
  4. Students who need to be excused by the nurse must get a pass from their Physical Education teacher at the beginning of class to go to the Nurse.
  5. If you are injured during a Physical Education class, please make sure you inform your instructor so that an accident report can be filled out.
  6. Any student who is excused from Physical Education for a medical reason must have a Doctor’s note stating the dates to be excused.  
  7. Inappropriate language and behavior will not be tolerated in Physical Education classes.
  8. Each student is responsible for maintaining a safe environment- for example, unnecessary roughness, misuse of equipment, or verbally threatening others will not be tolerated.
