When downloading documents from the Document Library no passwords are needed.  RIGHT-CLICK on the link for the document, and choose OPEN IN NEW WINDOW.  When it asks for your password, click the CANCEL button until the document opens.  (If this doesn't work try clicking the OK button instead.)
