BMS Spotlight on Learning!

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on our BMS Mathcounts Team! BMS Mathcounts Team took First Place at the State Competition. Great work Coach Orrall and all of our math team members!

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Stephanie Bannon. Mrs. Bannon is a down-to-earth teacher and shows all her students what the true meaning of life is. I want to shine the spotlight on her this week for all her hard work and dedication to the BMS community. This spotlight will be well deserved!! (Nominated by a member of our BMS Faculty/Staff).

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Diane Collins. She has helped our cluster as a whole greatly. She makes me feel confident in math and her teaching style really caters to everyone and she just makes learning math simple and fun. (Nominated by Purple Cluster Student, Zach Aubin).

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Diana Ouellette. Mrs. Ouellette is an amazing teacher. I used to hate writing but Mrs. Ouellette makes it fun and enjoyable while still teaching me everything I need to know in order to succeed. I love Mrs. Ouellette and enjoy her class so much! (Nominated by Lime Cluster Student, Leela Kamat).

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on our BPS Best Buddies Community. This past weekend, we had nearly 50 members of our BPS Best Buddies community participate in the Best Buddies walk at Providence College. Great work Best Buddies!

A note from the Student Assistance Counselor

Last month, I hosted "Stomp Out Smoking" week, where students were exposed to educational activities about the dangers of smoking cigarettes and vaping as well as the manipulative strategies big tobacco used to target teens. The week concluded with students being asked to write down why they choose not to smoke cigarettes or vape. Answers were collected and included in a display (pictured below) to inspire other students to make healthy choices. Way to go BMS!
