BMS Spotlight on Learning!

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Lori Dalessio. This past Friday, Lori presented at the Rhode Island Schools Superintendents’ Association Leadership Series on the New Pedagogies for Deep Learning. In front of educators from throughout the state, Lori highlighted the interdisciplinary work being done at the middle school, including projects to address local and global challenges such as hunger (community garden, “bee” initiative through heifer.org) to promote deep learning competencies. It was evident that the audience and the representatives from NPDL had an appreciation for the great teaching and learning happening at Barrington Middle School. Thank you, Lori, for an awesome presentation and for being a great teacher for our students!

We’d also like to shine our BMS Spotlight on 8th grader Carlo Flores.  Carlo is the RI winner of the  year long Stock Market Game, Middle School Division! Carlo turned $100,000 into $107,503, with an invest-for-the-long-term strategy.  In addition to bragging rights, Carlo will be recognized at a Virtual Awards Ceremony on May 18th.

Do you know of a BMS Faculty/Staff/Student member that is shining bright? If you do, please complete the form below and we can include the nomination in an upcoming newsletter.
