🥫HMS SOUPERBOWL COLLECTS DONATIONS FOR TAP IN: The Hampden Meadows Elementary School SOUPerbowl, a school-wide donation drive organized by the HMS Student Council, collected 1,019 cans of soup for TAPIN! Student Council members helped shelve, sort, and weigh the donations they delivered to Tap-In. They also received a tour of the food pantry to better understand how Tap-In helps address food insecurity in the East Bay. Thank you to the Hampden Meadows community, especially Student Council and Miss O'Neil, for making such a difference right here in Barrington!

🐋 BMS WINS WYLAND FOUNDATION NATIONAL MURAL COMPETITION: This month, a mural designed by Barrington Middle School eighth graders won first place in the middle school division of the Wyland Foundation's National Art and Classroom Mural Challenge! The Art Challenge is one of the top environmental art competitions for youth. This year's theme is environmental and water conservation, a topic that hits home for Rhode Islanders. Barrington Middle School's winning mural highlights the important message of whale conservation and protection. Working together on this mural challenged students to be collaborative, flexible, and creative. 🦋🏀QUARTERFINALS GAMES DEDICATED TO MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS: It was a quarterfinals double header for Barrington High School's varsity basketball teams last night and the Birdcage came out in full force to support! Last night's games were dedicated to Morgan's Message, a student organization that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community. Congratulations to both teams on their impressive records this season! Following their win last night, the girls basketball team will face La Salle Academy in a Division I play off game on Sunday, March 3. The boys basketball team ended their regular season 21-2 and will play in the Open Tournament in March.

🎭 UNIFIED THEATER SHOWCASES TALENT AND INCLUSION: Unified Theater is an inclusive student organization that dissolves typical barriers between youth through transformative, school-based performing arts. Members of Barrington High School's Unified Theater club have spent many hours together writing, editing, blocking, directing, and practicing this school year. 🏒BHS ALUMNI APPRECIATION NIGHT: Once an Eagle, always an Eagle! More than 40 alumni of the Barrington High School hockey team were in attendance for the hockey team's Alumni Appreciation Night celebration and the fiftieth year of varsity hockey at BHS. Alumni are an important part of the BHS hockey program. Each year, generous alumni donations help fund the Lt. Jeffrey R. Scharver USMC Award, the Patrick Cannon Memorial Award, the John Hall Memorial Scholarship Award, and the Scott H. Andrews Memorial Scholarship. Alumni donations also help support some costs associated with Barrington High School's robust hockey program.
